IPFA TWO YEAR PLANNING MEETING

Attention! We need YOU! All IPFA members!

When: Saturday, May 31, 2025
Time: 12:30 – 3:30 PM

Location: Indianola Pizza Ranch
All members and their families are invited to attend this very important
meeting for the future of the Iowa Professional Farriers Association. An
Agenda will be included in this newsletter. We have a special room reserved
that will be at no cost to the IPFA if we have a good number pay for the
buffet. We encourage those planning to eat, to arrive at 12:30. The meeting
will start at 1:00, but if you get there late, you can still eat during the meeting.
Buffet cost is $16.49 for adults and $15.49 for Seniors/Military.
The room holds 32, but for spouses and families that do not want to attend the
meeting, there is plenty of seating in the main dining area. There is an arcade
for the kids and those that are young at heart. The Pizza Ranch is located on
Hwy 69/65 just North of Indianola at 1709 N Jefferson Way. It is only 15
minutes from the South side of Des Moines if the family wants to run errands
or shop during the meeting. A shuttle service will be available if any member
needs a ride after the meeting to catch up to their families.
Main emphasis of the meeting will be to set dates for our events for the next
two years and address efforts being made to improve communication to the
membership. Of course we would like everyone to be a part of this history
making meeting, but if you cannot attend in person, you can call someone in
attendance and they can put you on speaker phone and relay information to
and from you. You can also notify someone who will be attending and let them
know your concerns and questions. Directors are a good source for this and

2025 Fall Clinic

The IPFA is proud to announce its 2025 Fall Clinic clinician, Steve Kraus, BS, CJF!

Steve Kraus is the resident farrier at Cornell University and will be bringing us a very insightful and educating clinic focusing on conformation and pathologies of the hind limb! The clinic will be held on October 23rd at Kempf’s Farrier Shop, 2955 205th St. Seymour, Iowa. Registration begins at 7:30 AM with coffee and donuts and the clinic will begin at 8:30 AM. The clinic fee is $125.00 per person.
